In partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, licensed hairstylists, and barbers, this initiative offers complimentary natural hair braiding and haircuts, helping kids feel proud of who they are—while embracing their roots and natural beauty in an affirming and joyful space.

Parents face so many challenges preparing their children for the school year—this event offers support beyond a fresh look, giving kids a fresh start filled with confidence and pride. 

Cornrows for Kids also provides:

Backpacks loaded with school supplies – including notebooks, pencils, and learning essentials—so students walk into the classroom prepared and equipped.
Nutritious snacks to nourish growing minds and keep energy high.
Creative activity stations – from healthy smoothie-making to abstract art – to inspire imagination, wellness, and self-expression.
